TEK Fairbairn-Sykes X-Dagger – Nickel Plated
Nickel plated Fairbairn-Sykes X-dagger handmade by Travis Evans Knives. This variation of an original X-dagger features a modified blade grind and a steel ‘S’ cross guard with double thumb reliefs, designed to give an additional type of hand grip. The hollow ground blade retains thickness up to the needle point and displays traditionally acid-etched TEK markings front and back.
A quality handmade leather sheath is paired with the knife for belt carry. The sheaths double layered frog allows for a belt to pass through in-between stitch lines. This method of construction is only found on custom made WW2 examples and is far superior to the mass-produced sheaths that followed.

X-daggers are widely known in collecting circles as the ‘precursor’ to the 1st pattern F-S fighting knife. Fairbairn, Sykes and other members of the Shanghai Municipal Police designed and manufactured these knives in the very early stages of WW2.
They are significantly different to the F-S, with long, heavily daggered needle point blades and broad ricassos. Noticeably heavier, X-daggers were often preferred among SAS, OSS and SOE operators.
