About TEK
TRAVIS EVANS
Knifemaker & Leathersmith, Melbourne Australia
Victoria Chief Commissioners Approval for Prohibited Weapons Trade
I am the dedicated sole owner & manufacturer of Travis Evans Knives – TEK, producing a wide range of hand-made Custom Knives and specializing in the re-creation of World War II edged weapons for military collectors and enthusiasts. As a machinist prior to knifemaking, my quality of work and attention to detail is paramount.
WWII Edged WeaponsRe-Creation Specialist
TEK re-creations provide collectors and enthusiasts with detailed examples of rare and hard-to-find WWII edged weapons. All knives/daggers and sheaths on this site are made entirely by me, accurately built to original specifications. Ranging from close combat fighting knives to covert S.O.E. and O.S.S. weapons, each re-creation displays the classic designs and skills used during wartime manufacture. In an era where expert cutlers turned stock steel into precise weapons – my aim is to keep this age-old craft alive. Always using similar craftsmanship & techniques while built with detail and visual appeal.
CustomKnives
My custom fixed blade knives include a selection of cutting tools from outdoor/survival and tactical blades to everyday use knives. Many are designed with a full tang construction, allowing for a variety of handle materials, like exotic wood and burls, micarta and G-10. Types of blade steel range from high carbon tool steels to quality stainless steels. Handmade leather sheaths are carefully built for each knife, many with a conventional belt carry option or paracord for smaller neck knives.
Leatherwork
Most of my knives are paired with a custom sheath, rigorously designed and handcrafted in-house. Using hard wearing and durable full grain leather, I ensure every sheath is excellent quality with traditional saddle stitching all done by hand. The sheaths are finished with oils and conditioners to protect the leather and to enhance colour and shine. Many of my WWII designed sheaths have a forced patina, replicating the visual appearance of age-old leather.
