TEK Fairbairn-Sykes X-Dagger

Fairbairn-Sykes X-dagger handmade by Travis Evans Knives. An exact re-creation of an original X-dagger, with the addition of makers mark etchings. The robust knurled grip and large steel cross guard provide a solid hold, while the ‘blind’ top nut (hidden tang) keeps the assembly tight.

This 3-piece hilt has a traditional hot black oxide finish. The hollow ground blade retains thickness up to the needle point and displays traditionally acid-etched TEK markings front and back.

Paired with a quality handmade leather sheath for ‘inside-the-waistband’ carry, most notably used at the WW2 secret training ground STS-103 ‘Camp X’.

X-daggers are widely known in collecting circles as the ‘precursor’ to the 1st pattern F-S fighting knife. Fairbairn, Sykes and other members of the Shanghai Municipal Police designed and manufactured these knives in the very early stages of WW2.

They are significantly different to the F-S, with long, heavily daggered needle point blades and broad ricassos. Noticeably heavier, X-daggers were often preferred among SAS, OSS and SOE operators.
